Terms for using BackStep AI.

Apple Standard EULA

BackStep AI is licensed through the Apple App Store. Your license to use the app is governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These BackStep-specific terms supplement that agreement by describing the product, safety boundaries, and subscriptions.

What BackStep does

BackStep records and organizes the process you perform while taking something apart. It can preserve marked moments, images, parts, notes, and an editable reversed sequence to help you review your own work later.

You are responsible for reviewing step titles, instructions, part associations, and media before relying on a guide. Automatic suggestions may be incomplete or uncertain and are not authoritative repair instructions.

Safety and user responsibility

BackStep is an organizational utility, not a manufacturer repair manual, licensed engineering service, or substitute for qualified professional guidance.

Do not rely on BackStep for high voltage, gas appliances, structural work, vehicle safety systems, medical devices, or other hazardous equipment. Follow applicable manufacturer instructions, laws, protective-equipment requirements, and professional guidance. BackStep does not fabricate torque specifications, electrical requirements, gas procedures, or safety-critical instructions.

Your project content

You are responsible for the recordings, images, notes, project names, and other content you create or import. Do not record or share content you do not have permission to use.

Version 1.0 stores project content locally. You control export and sharing destinations. Deleting a project is intended to remove that selected project’s local records and media; separately exported copies remain in the destinations you selected.

BackStep Pro subscriptions

BackStep AI is free to download and includes up to three user-created projects. The bundled sample project does not count toward this limit. Manual capture, Mark Step, PartMap, clip replay when source media is available, reverse-guide creation, and Rebuild Mode remain available without BackStep Pro.

BackStep Pro unlocks unlimited user-created projects, independent project duplication, compatible Apple Vision Pro project transfer, and continuing premium workflow updates.

• Plans: monthly and annual auto-renewable subscriptions provide the same BackStep Pro feature level.
• Price: Apple displays the exact local price and billing period before purchase. Prepared U.S. launch prices are $4.99 per month and $39.99 per year.
• Renewal: payment is charged to your Apple Account. The subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before renewal.
• Introductory offers: a trial or offer applies only when Apple displays it and confirms your eligibility.
• Manage or cancel: use Apple subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect according to the period shown by Apple.
• Restore: use Restore App Store Purchases in BackStep while signed in with the Apple Account that made the purchase.

Availability and changes

Some features depend on device capabilities, operating-system support, permissions, available storage, source-media availability, and Apple services. On-device analysis may be unavailable; manual Mark Step remains the fallback.

Features and these terms may be updated as BackStep evolves. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date and in the app or App Store information as appropriate.

BackStep ownership

BackStep AI, its software, interface, branding, and supplied content are owned by Ortiz Venture Holdings LLC or its licensors. Your own project recordings, images, and notes remain your content, subject to any rights held by others in material you record or import.
